friendships

“Anchor”

We never needed
loud promises
or perfect timing.
Just a quiet nod,
a shared glance
that said:
I get it.

You were the call
I didn’t have to rehearse for,
the laugh
that showed up
when the world didn’t.

We’ve walked through
different storms,
but somehow
held the same umbrella.
Even when the winds pulled,
you stayed.

Some friendships
aren’t fireworks.
They’re lighthouses—
constant,
and exactly where
you need them
when the night
gets too much.
